On behalf of the Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA), we invite you to join us for the 2026 Annual Juneteenth Celebration on Friday, June 12, 2026, in Levering Hall at Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus. This year’s celebration marks the 161st Anniversary of Juneteenth is themed: “Honoring Our Past, Shaping Our Future”

Are you a new/returning member to the BFSA? Join us Friday, June 12th at 3:30pm as we provide information about the BFSA, Juneteenth and announce our newest BFSA members.
Each BFSA member will receive a BFSA lapel pin. Light refreshments will be served.

Join us for our Annual Juneteenth Celebration. We have an awesome program line-up for you.
- Welcome by BFSA President, Lorraine Smith
- Virtual Remarks from President Ronald Daniels
- Liberations from Griot Grandma Edna
- Songs by Singing Sensations Youth Choir – including the “Lift Every Voice and Sing”
- Dr. Lawrence Brown, Research Scientist, and author of “The Black Butterfly: The Harmful Politics of Race and Space in America”
- Dancers and Drummers by Keur Khaleyia
- Laughs with Comedian Larry Lancaster
- Dance party with DJ Marty Mar.
- STEM activities for the kids.
Dinner will be provided, while it last. Admission is free for BFSA members, one guest and up to two children. Non-BFSA members and children 7 years of age and older just $10 each. This event is open to all – JHU employees and community partners.
